XactSpot MSA
Multi-Station Analysis Software
The XactSpot MSA program assists users in determining whether significant systematic data errors are present which might cause inaccurate computed azimuth values. It evaluates error sources that may exceed the expectations of standard error models.
Correctable Error Types
Axial Biases
Large axial biases from drillstring magnetization
Cross-Axial Biases
Cross-axial magnetic biases from drill collar issues or magnetic debris
Scale Factor Errors
Cross-axial scale factor errors from magnetic particles in drilling fluid
Torsion Errors
Torsion (β) or rotational toolface misalignment
Induced Magnetization
Axial scale factor errors from induced magnetization
Reference Field
Reference field errors affecting computed values
Features
MSA Calculations
Advanced multi-station analysis algorithms evaluate input data and provide corrected survey readings. Solve for axial and cross-axial biases, scale factors, torsion, and reference field errors with configurable solver options and Bz instability reporting.
Advanced Plotting
Interactive pre and post-correction data comparison with crosshair tooltips showing uncorrected and corrected values at each station. Seven plot types including Azimuth vs MD, Inclination vs MD, combined views, G Total, B Total, Dip, and Toolface. Export plots as images or copy to clipboard.
Data Importer
Import from Excel, CSV, and text formats with flexible column mapping. Automatic column detection from headers, configurable header row position, and sensor value inversion for different tool configurations. Live data preview before import.
Well Header & Tie-On Point
Complete well information management including customer, field, rig, survey details, and tie-on point coordinates. Supports both geographic (lat/long) and projected (northing/easting) coordinate systems with automatic reference value lookups.
Coordinate Converter
Built-in coordinate conversion between geographic and projected coordinate systems. Convert between WGS 84, UTM zones, and other EPSG-defined systems. Copy results directly to and from the project header with one click.
Geomagnetic Reference Calculator
Look up geomagnetic reference values for any location and date using industry-standard coefficient files. Returns declination, grid convergence, total field strength, horizontal and vertical components, dip angle, and secular variation for accurate survey corrections.
Dark & Light Themes
Choose between dark and light interface themes to suit your working environment and preference.
